Dr. Janine David FECSM

Dr Janine David is a GP who specialises in Men’s and Women’s sexual health. She qualified as a GP in 2001 and has been a GP partner in Porthcawl Medical Centre for the past 16 years. She became a GP trainer in 2005.

She developed a special interest in Men’s and Women’s sexual health in 2013 and completed the Multidisciplinary Joint Committee of Sexual Medicine (MJCSM) course and exam making her a Fellow of the European Committee of Sexual Medicine (FECSM). This is the highest qualification you can achieve in this field.

She has a specialist interest in testosterone deficiency & erectile dysfunction as well as having advanced knowledge and experience with female sexual dysfunction and minor operations.

She is secretary of the Primary Care Testosterone Advisory Group (www.PCTAG.uk), a member of the British, European and International Societies of Sexual Medicine (BSSM, ESSM & ISSM), a faculty member of the Postgraduate International School of Men’s Health (PRISM) and is an editorial board member of the Trends in Urology & Men’s Health journal.

She is a regular speaker, both on the national and international stage on the subject of Men’s Health and is actively involved in clinical research and has had papers published in several journals including the Journal of Sexual Medicine.

She is a co-author of the Men’s Health Guidelines for General Practice and has run clinical audits within her NHS practice to identify ways to improve the health of her patients in this often, over-looked area.

She attends several annual national and international sexual medicine meetings to keep abreast of the latest research and clinical evidence.

She has also obtained a diploma from the Royal College of Obstetrics and Gynecology and from the Faculty of Sexual & Reproductive Health.

She also works as an associate andrologist in the Urology department of the Princess of Wales Hospital, Bridgend where she runs a Men’s Health clinic usually twice a month.
